Arts W.O.W.

(Arts Without Walls)

Our ArtsWOW program brings the arts to non-traditional settings, from nursing homes and community gardens, to parks and sailing ships. This allows us to reach an even greater number of children and adults, and many people have their first hands-on experience of how the arts can help us look closely at our world.

If you are interested in bringing ArtsWOW to your school or  group, please contact

Nontraditional settings are strong ways to engage youth and adults in different types of learning. We've held Blackbird Arts presents  Great Lakes History and Music with Joshua Davis  and a  Family Art Sail / Scientific Drawing Workshop with the Inland Seas Schoolship.

SEEDS and Blackbird have partnered for five years to provide arts enrichment after school, summer camp collaborations, and three years of The Quest--a summer camp theater/art/music/performance intensive with SEEDS and Earthwork Music.

Blackbird Arts offers workshops for residents in retirement and assisted care facilities. Since 2015, we've held workshops at Grand Traverse Pavilions ranging from watercolor to clay hand building.
