$25/ per person (includes free admission to the museum)

The ancient Egyptians used Canopic jars during the mummification process to preserve organs for the afterlife. Join ceramic artists to create your very own Canopic jar...but this one is for cookies, not kidneys! Learn the importance of preserving organs in ancient Egypt. Then, have a little fun creating a personalized Canopic jar from a slab of clay. Pieces will be fired in the kiln and available for pickup in 2-3 weeks. Register online or call (231) 421-8085 to reserve your spot.

Cartouche workshop with Blackbird Arts (ages 9 to adult)

Explore ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics and create a cartouche, or name plate. Work with ceramic artists to build one small one to wear as a necklace and another to hang on a door or wall.
